Dear Friends,
With the arrival of January there is a sense of renewal. After the Christmas cleanup, which included removing the cat from the tree, it was time to retreat into my studio. Because of the cold weather that we’ve had, it has been a very productive time for me.
A sampling of some of the new art.
My daughter Becky and I loaded the car with new art and took it to our distribution center in Mathews, VA. We arrived there in time to share the magnificence of the winter transformation of the county. Mathews had received approximately 9” of snow from the last storm that came up the east coast. We found the distribution center in its own state of renewal. Plans to paint the front office and rearrange furniture were underway. A combined conference room and showroom will greet local visitors. Anyone wanting to visit is encouraged to call ahead to 804-725-7378.
Frosty water view from my old home in Mathews.
You’re never too old to play in the snow as evidenced by the Portfolio staff. On this beautiful sunny day we enjoyed hamburgers on the grille together.
Painting an office during business hours is no easy task. Becky jumped right in and helped get the job done quickly.

The Moss Foundation has selected a quilt to be used for this year’s raffle. This gorgeous quilt was donated by Lana Kleimon of Georgia. It is titled, Our First Outing. Lana carefully constructed it over the last 2 years. The tickets will be available from the Moss Foundation starting February 1st. They will be the same price as last year, 1 ticket for $3, or 2 for $5. The drawing will be held on the Sunday of the Winter Barn Show in Waynesboro, VA. Please call 800-430-1320 to purchase tickets. Also look for the quilt to be travelling and visiting Moss Dealers throughout the year. Its first stop will be the Blacksburg Gallery, starting in January.
