Dear Friends,
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” -Albert Camus
As I am writing this newsletter, I am watching snowflakes gently cascade to the ground. My road is covered in white. It promises to be another chilly day in Virginia and a good day to work. I am putting the finishing touches on a painting of Cassell Coliseum at Virginia Tech that will be printed soon. We will use some of the proceeds from the sales of the prints to help support the women’s basketball program.
The Cassell Coliseum print will be released sometime in February. For information please contact the Moss Gallery of Blacksburg.
Oftentimes I am asked if any of my children are artists. The answer is yes. From culinary arts to interior design to printmaking, my family expresses their own artistic view of the world. I have worked closely with my daughter Becky over the years producing etchings. She is a master printmaker and has recently been hired to teach an etching class at Radford University. There is no better way to secure our future other than investing in children’s education today. I am proud of her.
It’s official! Teacher credential badge for Becky.
One of my collectors’ favorite series of prints has been the Appalachian series, which features one print for each season of the year. I am pleased to share with you that I have painted another version of Spring to augment the series. It will be titled Spring in Appalachia and has the same dimensions as the sold out Appalachian Spring. This print will be released at my Blacksburg, Virginia show, Saturday, February 3rd and Sunday, February 4th. If you would like to reserve a print, please call the Moss Gallery of Blacksburg at 540-552-6446.

Blue Ridge Public Television (BRPTV) is beginning its 51st year of broadcasting and I am happy to provide support for its wonderful programs. My new print for them is Falling Springs Falls. This waterfall is located in the Alleghany Highlands near Covington, Virginia. The magnificent 80’ waterfall can be readily seen from the road and is one of the area’s most photographed spots. To acquire this print, please visit www.brptv.org, click donate and you’ll find it under “collectibles”.

Until next week, bundle up and stay warm!
