Dear Friends,

The fountains mingle with the river

And the rivers with the ocean,

The winds of heaven mix for ever

With a sweet emotion;

Nothing in the world is single;

All things by a law divine

In one spirit meet and mingle.

Why not I with thine?  By Percy Bysshe Shelley

I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day. I’d also like to take a moment and thank two very generous people who recently donated artwork to the P Buckley Moss Foundation to use for fundraising. Margaret Wittekind of Morristown, NJ sent a package of porcelain art, and Karsten Pfister of Manassas, VA made a donation of seventeen framed prints. Gifts such as these, added to gifts from our monthly donors, continue to provide future educational opportunities for children that learn differently. The Foundation is currently accepting applications for the P Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship. If you are not familiar with this program, here is a brief description. The PBM Endowed is a $1,000 renewable scholarship given to a graduating high school senior, with a verifiable learning difference, who plans a career in the visual arts. I am including a link that will direct you to the application form so that you may share it. The application period for the 2020-21 school year ends on March 31st.

Last weekend I had my first show of the year in Blacksburg, VA. The gallery was festive and bright and so many people stopped by. We released my new print Winter’s Reverie, Mabry Mill and it became quite the conversation starter. So many people had visited the mill, and like me, were enchanted by the area’s natural beauty. The lovely Valentine gift basket was won by Audrey Jennelle. I want to thank everyone for coming to the show and making my weekend special.

I got to pull the winning ticket for the Blacksburg Valentine Gift Basket.

“And the winner is…”

Audrey Jennelle.”

I have to tell you about another painting that I am planning. Prior to painting any landmark, I like to study it and the surrounding area. I guess you would say I take the pulse of a place. This week I toured Radford University to get ideas for this new project. Be on the lookout for updates in this newsletter regarding this future release.

Joining me on my Radford University tour was collector and friend Patty.

At the end of February I will be joining my friends at Iowa Public Television as we unveil my new print done especially for their annual fundraiser. I hope to also visit my Moss Society friends in the area. We are long overdue for a dinner together. I will have more information on my Iowa visit in my next newsletter.

Until next week,
