Dear Friends,

“She turned to the sunlight
    And shook her yellow head,
And whispered to her neighbor:
    "Winter is dead.”
―A. A. Milne

Surely there is no greater confirmation that Spring is coming than the joyous blooms of the daffodils bending in the breeze. I had a very special visitor this week who had never seen daffodils. Her name is Elsie. Who is Elsie, you may be asking. She is my daughter Patty’s 9-month old puppy. She brought playful noise and delight into my home like only a puppy can. I think we bonded during shared afternoon naps.

Signs of Spring mingled with an inquisitive puppy put a big smile on my face.

Puppies are full of energy as my son-in-law Roberto found out.

I am working on a set of dog paintings that have been inspired by my friends' dogs. Take a look! I hope to print several of them.

Do you have a favorite?

Do you recognize anyone?

Recently I was contacted by Elijah Rinaldi, a member of the fraternity Sigma Nu at Virginia Tech. He was in charge of organizing the annual alumni fundraising event and he asked me to create a painting of their house. The house is in need of repairs, and some of the proceeds from sales of this print have been donated to assist with this project. I enjoyed working on this painting and got to meet many wonderful people. I learned that Sigma Nu national fraternity was founded over 140 years ago under the principles of love, honor, and truth. The Virginia Tech local chapter has embraced these principles since 1961 and is devoted to academic achievement, brotherhood development, and philanthropy.

Our Fraternity House is available from your local Moss Dealer.

Wednesday, March 7th, I will be welcoming the Mountain View Garden Club to the Blacksburg gallery. I am really looking forward to meeting them. Gardening is one of my favorite things and I’m sure that we’ll all have much to share on the topic.

Until next week.

Love,
