Dear Friends,

What better way is there to welcome March than to read Emily Dickinson’s poem Dear March- Come in. I have it here for you to enjoy and share. I think her appraisal of March will help make our current weather situation seem better.

Dear March—Come in—
How glad I am—
I hoped for you before—
Put down your Hat—
You must have walked—
How out of Breath you are—
Dear March, how are you, and the Rest—
Did you leave Nature well—
Oh March, Come right upstairs with me—
I have so much to tell—

I got your Letter, and the Birds—
The Maples never knew that you were coming—
I declare - how Red their Faces grew—
But March, forgive me—
And all those Hills you left for me to Hue—
There was no Purple suitable—
You took it all with you—

Who knocks? That April—
Lock the Door—
I will not be pursued—
He stayed away a Year to call
When I am occupied—
But trifles look so trivial
As soon as you have come

That blame is just as dear as Praise
And Praise as mere as Blame—

Last Sunday evening I joined the Iowa PBS broadcast from my living room in Blacksburg, VA. My daughter Patty set up the remote studio equipment for me. I enjoyed seeing friend’s faces at the station, but really miss being there in person. 2019 may have been the last time I was at the station. Funny how quickly time passes. Keeping me company during the broadcast were two of my grand-dogs, Elsie and Carmen.

In between segments the dogs kept me entertained, especially Carmen. Just look at that expressive face!

I have been told that 31 tickets remain for the July 15th Moss Foundation Dinner at my home. You may purchase tickets online by visiting https://www.eventbrite.com/e/dinner-with-artist-p-buckley-moss-tickets-529479416187, or by calling the Foundation office at 800-430-1320. I hope you will join me for an outstanding evening filled with friends, food and fun.  Our goal will be to raise funds to support the Teacher Grant and PBM Endowed Scholarship programs for the coming school year. Among the many wonderful items selected for the silent auction, there will be new items that will certainly pique your interest. All dinner guests will also receive a gift print from me.

Included in the silent auction are two pieces of my show jewelry, and this hand painted apron featuring my black cats.

Until next week,

Love,
