Dear Friends,

I invite each and every one of you to take a moment and reflect on the beauty that surrounds us. Today is the first day of Spring. Look outside, look around. I have beautiful blooming trees surrounding me and daffodils on grand display. The earth gives us hope for the future. Covid-19 is a heavy burden for all of us and the angst of the unknown can seem overwhelming at times. Do what is necessary to care for yourselves and one another.

I have some changes in my show schedule that I would like to share with you. My April 4th gallery open house with King James Galleries of Winchester, Virginia has been postponed until the fall of 2020. For release at this show I painted Berkeley Castle, which is located in Berkeley Springs, WV. Situated approximately 40 miles due north of Winchester, this lovely locale has an interesting history. The original town formed around the mineral hot springs in 1776 and was given the name of Bath by George Washington. Since 1802, the town has been known as Berkeley Springs. Berkeley Castle sits atop Warm Springs Ridge overlooking the town. The castle construction began in 1885 by Colonel Sam Taylor Suit of Maryland. Unfortunately the colonel did not live to see the completion of his home. The castle was completed in 1891 and his widow lived there until 1913. Currently the property is under private ownership and public tours are not available.

Berkeley Castle

My staff and I will keep you advised as additional changes are made to my upcoming show schedule. Any such changes will be posted online at, P Buckley Moss Artist on Facebook, pbuckleymoss on Instagram and of course here, in my weekly newsletter. You are always welcome to call my distribution center too. The number is 800-430-1320. The office hours are from 8:30 am until 5 pm Eastern, M-F.

I am practicing my social distancing at my drawing board. Other friends have been taking care of those put off household chores and a number of people have said that their destination is the hobby or sewing room. What will you be doing? If you are looking for a sewing project, I have an idea for you. I have painted and donated original art centerpieces to my Foundation to be used in quilts. The raffles and auctions of these quilts have generated money to pay for the scholarships given by the Foundation. Quilt makers over the years have created and lovingly donated their expertise. If you would like to learn more about this project, please contact the Foundation office at, or 800-430-1320. There are over 70 quilt centers to choose from ranging from 7” to 22.” Recently the Foundation received 2 quilts from my Quilt Camp at Sea friends who live in Washington State. Take a look!

Jackie Wolff pieced this quilt designed by Lori Hein using one of my yellow frogs as a centerpiece. This decorative beauty measures approximately 39” x 39.” The quilting was done by Karean Derby.

Lori Hein designed and pieced this quilt and it was quilted by Karean Derby. It measures 54” x 54.” Isn’t it magnificent? I want to thank all 3 of these ladies for their exceptional work, kindness and dedication in supporting the mission of my Foundation.

Until next week,
