Dear Friends,

I have recently returned to my Radford home at the lake in preparation for upcoming shows. First on my agenda, aside from a haircut, I plan on getting some rest. During the time I was in Mathews I was blessed with a drive to paint and I did so almost continuously. I like to share with you some of my new work and the inspiration behind it.

Coastal Beauty,  Giclée on paper. IS: 6-1/4” x 6-1/4”. This painting almost drew itself while I was watching a blue heron fish in the cove outside my studio window. I love the patience and majesty of this bird and felt that it should be drawn with a minimal amount of background.

You may remember that in a recent newsletter, I remarked, “
Much like watching a stable door fly open, a herd of horses literally leapt onto my drawing table this week”  I’d like to introduce you to Majestic Dancer, another horse from that collection. It is a giclée on paper and the image size is 9-3/4” x 4”.

Indirectly my mother may be the reason I drew this beautiful baby. The story is a little convoluted, so bear with me. When I was growing up, my family was relatively poor when it came to buying extraneous things. We were always clothed and fed, but we did not have money for horses and violins. My mother would tell me to draw them. Fast forward to adulthood, I was married and had 6 children. I love children so and would’ve had more but Mom said she would never visit if I did. Additional children regularly show up on my drawing board. Here is my newest titled, Basket of Love. The dimensions are 3-1/2” x 5-1/8” and it is a giclée on paper.

I look forward to seeing all my friends and collectors in the upcoming months. In the meantime let’s all continue to be vigilant with our covid prevention practices while we work to put this pandemic behind us.

Until next week,

Love,
