Dear Friends,

The nicer side of spring has arrived. Suddenly the weather is warm and I find so much to do outside. I am torn by my wish to garden and my love of painting.  I continue to be busy in the studio and have been very pleased with the results.

These two paintings are still on my drawing table.

Here are two completed new paintings that will be available soon. I had a lot of fun painting the fiddler.

My daughter Becky and I went to the annual luncheon of the Women’s Resource Center in Radford. Originating in 1977, this non-profit began as a women’s shelter. Over the years it has expanded its services to address the needs of families and children caught in the cycle of abuse by providing hope and help to those who need it. I am considering working with them to help raise funds.

I enjoyed meeting these women and hearing their stories.

Blacksburg, Virginia is where I will be this weekend and I’m excited about the open house. I will have a collection of small originals with me to share. We will be releasing two new prints, Lurking in the Shallows and Fall Reflections, available framed and unframed. The show hours are Saturday, May 5, from 11am – 4pm, and Sunday, May 6, from Noon – 3pm. Refreshments will be served and I can guarantee good company! I hope you can stop by.
