Dear Friends,

Memorial Day is this coming Monday, May 25th and it is time to remember all of the men and women who died while in service to our country. The celebrations and remembrances will be different this year due to the ongoing pandemic. Parades, family picnics and general public gatherings will be limited. I have a few ideas of how we can honor our fallen military personnel. If you have a flag, fly it. You could also decorate your yard or home in red, white and blue. Use your social media accounts to post pictures of servicemen and women, and share their stories. Tune in to the National Memorial Day Concert being shown on PBS on Sunday, May 24th, 8 pm eastern.  General George S. Patton, Jr. once said, “The soldier is the Army. No army is better than its soldiers. The Soldier is also a citizen. In fact, the highest obligation and privilege of citizenship is that of bearing arms for one’s country.”

Honoring our heroes.

I have had the best birthday and I have all of you to thank for it. Being unable to have a party became a non-issue with all of the lovely birthday cards, calls and messages that everyone took time to send. My daughter Mary made the most wonderful pumpkin pie for me. We celebrated quietly at home with a dinner peppered with video messages from family members and friends. Won’t it be extra special when can all gather together in one place again?

The secret to a happy life is a loving family. My daughters Becky (L) and Mary made sure that I enjoyed my birthday.

My birthday pie. I enjoyed a tiny slice before dinner.

The P Buckley Moss Gallery of Blacksburg Virtual Show is coming up quickly. Join the gallery and me online on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/pbuckleymossgalleryblacksburg/, on May 30th and 31st for a unique event. Look for video clips and share in the conversation as we gather together virtually. I am continually amazed by the technology that affords us the ability to do this. The gallery has compiled 3 albums of my framed artwork for you to browse comfortably from home. You’ll find them at pbuckleymoss.com under the Specialty Arts Prints header next week. Please note that if you missed seeing the April 2020 online albums from the Virtual Spring Barn Show, they will also be available there for you.

Here is a preview of what you will find in the online albums. This is my print, Faith in the Valley, framed. Don’t you just love it?

Just a reminder, for up-to-date information on my ever changing show schedule, please visit pbuckleymoss.com and click on Shows/Events.

Until next week,

Love,
