Dear Friends,

“Maybe that's the best part of going away for a vacation-coming home again.”
― Madeleine L'Engle

I am refreshed and ready to get back to work. The British Isle tour was delightful and culminated in the wedding of my oldest granddaughter Kate and Michael Harvey. I love having another grandson. Welcome to the family.

“Best day of our lives,” Michael and Kate.

My daughters Mary and Becky accompanied me to Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church where my nephew Paul Brokaw is the minister. He has served as their minister since November of 2007 and has amassed quite a large congregation. The service was lovely and we stayed and enjoyed lunch provided by the parishioners.  I recently completed a painting for him that featured his church. The prints from it are being sold as part of a fundraiser.

Joining me in this picture is Paul, his wife Cindy, and my daughters Mary and Becky.

I would like to thank Christina Chelgren of South Dakota for designing and creating a beautiful quilt for the Moss Foundation for Children’s Education. It features one of my hand-painted centerpieces. After spending so much time around quilters, I have come to appreciate the artistry and the huge investment of time spent on making a quilt. This quilt will be raffled sometime in the future to raise money for scholarships and teacher grants.

Speaking of quilts and quilting, I am pleased to share that Northcott has just released a fabric line based upon my artwork. The collection is called Amish Life. To see the collection, please follow this link to my Northcott designer page. Once there, you can click on Amish Life. http://northcott.net/designers-detail.aspx?di=303

Here are a few samples of what you will find. It is going to be fun to see what will be created with them!

I will spend this weekend in Pennsylvania with my friends at King James Gallery of Gettysburg. Friday evening, June 1st, there will be a reception at the gallery from 5pm to 7 pm with light refreshments served. Saturday's show is from 10 am to 3 pm. If you’ve never visited King James Gettysburg, I encourage you to do so. This beautifully appointed gallery is home to a huge selection of my work, with more than 100 pieces framed. I will be bringing the 2018 Moss Foundation Raffle Quilt with me for you to see. Tickets are $3 each, or 2 for $5. The drawing for it will be held December 9, 2018 at the Moss Gallery in Waynesboro, VA.

2018 Foundation Raffle Quilt donated by Lana Kleimon.

Two years ago gallery manager Debra Starry (pictured) gave me a foam board to pad my signing table. It has become a doodle board that I add to when I visit. Eventually it will be raffled or auctioned off with the proceeds to benefit the Moss Foundation.

Until next week,

Love,
