Dear Friends,

Spring cleaning took on an all new meaning as workers converged on my house this past weekend. Together we cleaned and stained the deck, raked and blew leaves, followed with weeding and mulching. I’d like to thank everyone who took part in this awesome project.

My daughter Becky tackled the deck railing by ladder. It was so much work, but it looks so good, don’t you think?

Welcome to Moss Avenue.

June 16, 2018, from 1 to 4 pm, I will be in Radford, Virginia for a very special print release, The Arnheim House. This signing event will be held on site at the Arnheim House, now named the Dr. Minnie Lee Dean Center. Parking is limited, so the best place to park is the library. There will be a shuttle available.

The Arnheim House. To reserve your print, please contact the Moss Gallery of Blacksburg at 540-552-6446.

What makes this painting so special is the history of this property and what it means to Radford residents. Built above the New River circa 1838, the Arnheim House was the home of Dr. William Blair Radford, for whom Radford was named. It is located adjacent to Radford High School and known by many residents as the Home Economics building. Its colorful history includes a story about a Civil War cannonball being hidden somewhere in the foundation.

All proceeds from the sale of The Arnheim House will benefit of the Radford City Schools through the Radford City Schools Partners for Excellence Foundation, Inc. Their mission states, “to support and enhance the educational experience of the Radford City Schools’ students through business and individual partnerships.”

What a wonderful reception at Al’s on First Restaurant in Pulaski, Virginia for the MiLB (minor league baseball) print release of Calfee Park. Calfee Park has been a part of the Pulaski landscape for close to 100 years. Prior to being home of the Yankees, it hosted carnivals, horse shows and high school football games. It is a symbol of resilience to residents who carry many fond memories of time spent there.

Current owner of Calfee Park is Shelor Motor Mile, an automotive dealership in Christiansburg, Virginia. Joining me in conversation is David Hagan, VP at Shelor.

I am already excited about the Summer Barn Show and Gallery Open House, July 6-8, and I still have a few weeks to go. The gallery will be releasing my new print titled, Morning Sunshine. I must confess to being very fond of this painting since it represents a number of dogs that I have gotten to know. To reserve your copy of this print, please contact the Waynesboro gallery at 540-949-6473.

Morning Sunshine

Father’s Day is this Sunday. Let us all take time to remember and thank our fathers.

“My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.” ― Jim Valvano

I couldn’t have said it better.

Until next week,
