Dear Friends,

Birthdays provide each of us a time to celebrate a day that is uniquely our own. As the years have passed, I find that I look forward to my day because it provides the opportunity for all of us to reconnect. One of my favorite birthday quotes is, “Count not the candles... see the light they give! Count not the years... but the life you live!” I am late in saying this, but thank you everyone who called, sent cards and thought of me this year and I’m so grateful that you’re part of my life.

How I missed my drawing table while I was away! Refreshed with new ideas, I got to work immediately on a painting from a sketch that I did while visiting Venice. Do you like it?

Work in progress

In the Fall of 2017 I was contacted by Ann Wiseman of Ashland, Kentucky. She inquired about having me do a print in celebration of her church’s upcoming 200th anniversary. June 21st and 22nd, I will be releasing my print titled Bicentennial Blessing at the First Presbyterian Church of Ashland, Kentucky. This Victorian-style church as it is presented in the print, is the third home that this congregation has shared. Founded in 1819 by the Poage family, the original building used was a log structure. The address for this event is 1600 Winchester Av. I will be welcoming friends and collectors on Friday from 2-6 pm, and Saturday from 10am-4pm. If you would like to preorder a print, just give Ann a call at 606-325-4875.

It seems like it has been so long since I was in Ashland, and I am really looking forward to seeing you there.

Bicentennial Blessing celebrates the 200-year commitment of this congregation. The print is available in two sizes; IS: 12-3/16 x 12-1/8 ins., $125 and IS: 16-1/2 x 16-7/16 ins., $230.

I am putting together a basket to donate to the Moss Foundation for the upcoming Annual Fundraising Dinner being held at the Memorial Patio at my Waynesboro, Virginia home on July 13th. Last year’s event was just the best fun and we raised enough money to cover all of the P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarships. Speaking of the Endowed Scholarship, let me introduce you to the 2019 winner, Teagan Walters. Teagan is a graduating high school senior with dyslexia who plans to study art at School of the Art Institute in Chicago beginning this fall. The portfolio she submitted with her application is comprised of thought-provoking sculpture that is quite impressive. She has a compassionate drive and I am glad that we will be a part of her educational growth.

Meet Teagan Walters, our 2019 P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship winner.

Tickets for the Foundation Dinner are available by calling the Foundation office at 800-430-1320, or online through Eventbrite, I hope you will consider sharing a very special evening together while we help make a difference in our world. If you’d like to make a donation or basket (like me), please contact Mary at the Foundation office.
