Dear Friends,

Happy 4th of July! Barbecues, parties and all things summer come to mind when we think of this holiday. This Fourth of July, let’s enjoy summer, but let’s also remember our shared American history and the meaning of the day.

Small Town 4th of July Giclée

I will be going home to Waynesboro this coming weekend. Even though I have made my home in many places over the years with many of you becoming like family to me, Waynesboro, Virginia will always hold a special place in my heart. I raised my family there as well as launched my career. Friday, July 6th is the opening date for my annual Summer Barn Show and Gallery Open House. I am looking forward to spending the weekend in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and reuniting with my daughter Ginny, and her husband, Corrado.

Together we will be releasing my new print, Morning Sunshine. The gallery is located at 329 W. Main St. in downtown Waynesboro. This beautifully appointed gallery showcases the largest inventory of my work, much of which is framed. They also carry many originals. Corrado will be on hand to answer questions and discuss framing options. I will be at the Barn on Friday and Saturday to meet with you and sign prints. On Sunday I will be at the gallery from noon to 4 p.m. I look forward to seeing you there!

New release, Morning Sunshine. I did this painting of a friend’s kitchen in England when I was visiting. The dog was so expressive and I loved how the morning sunshine came in through the garden window.

The Moss Foundation Annual Fundraising Dinner is being held at my home on the evening of July 7th. Come spend a relaxing evening on my patio and enjoy dinner and the company of all your Moss friends while we raise money for children’s education. Tickets may be available up until the time of the event, but you can reserve your spot now by calling 800-430-1320 or visiting It’s going to be fun!

Happy Days.  Benjamin Franklin once said, “Investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” I believe that is true. Let’s help our children.

My oldest granddaughter Kate was married recently to Michael Harvey in a quiet ceremony in France while we were on our recent cruise. Last weekend was their celebration for friends and family. What a fantastic event! On Friday night we enjoyed an entertaining dinner at Nicola’s Restaurant in Decatur, GA. The owner’s exuberance was contagious and everyone gathered on the dance floor.

My daughter Mary is to be commended for the lodging arrangements in Georgia. She booked an Airbnb in a quaint neighborhood in Decatur. We arrived to find a magical 2 story house appropriately named Whimsy. So much thought had gone into the creation of this residence. Every nook and cranny had something to delight its visitors.

Italy has been on my mind ever since we announced the dates for the 2019 Moss Society trip! If you haven’t heard, we will be visiting Rome, Piedmont, Garda Lake and Venice. The dates are May 26th through June 7, 2019. I am so excited to see more of the Italian countryside, and I hope you can join me on this wonderful adventure. Here is a link for you to follow to the trip itinerary.

Please note, due to the popularity of this trip, reservations need to be made by July 8, 2018.
