Dear Friends,

Gardening has always been a constant element throughout my life and it has given me great joy over the years. I was delighted to be invited to share this passion and speak at the Westchester Garden Club of Roanoke. Westchester is one of 12 groups that make up the Roanoke Council of Garden Clubs. This council was founded in 1934 and became a 501 (c) (3) non-profit in 1960. Through the unity of the area gardeners, local citizens benefit from educational programs and civic beautification. This organization provides assistance to veterans programs, Feeding SW Virginia, and the school system by introducing children to the many wonders waiting to be discovered outdoors. For information on this wonderful group please follow this link. http://www.roanokecouncilofgardenclubs.com/

Garden Friends, one of my many paintings inspired by my love of gardening.

Ella Fitzgerald once said, “Where there is love and inspiration, I don’t think you can go wrong.” I love what I do and am grateful to be able to continue painting. The current heatwave has been an additional motivator to stay inside and work. I’d like to share with you 2 of my works in progress.

Untitled, 2 different paintings of New River Community College in Dublin, VA. This long term project has recently become a reality. A release date and the edition sizes have not been determined yet. I can promise that it will be very soon!

Dr. Pat Huber, NRCC’s sixth president, stopped by for the first glimpse of the New River Community College’s 50th year anniversary piece
.

The second painting, also from Dublin, features the New Dublin Presbyterian Church. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, this structure was built in 1870. It is the 3rd sanctuary constructed at this location. It should be noted that the church was established in 1769 by Reverend Craig. I will have a photo of it in an upcoming newsletter.

I would like to wish you a Happy 4th of July. Let us all remember during our reunions and celebrations what a gift and privilege it is to live in the United States.

Until next week,

Love,
