Dear Friends,

What a special time shared with Moss friends and family as we met in Waynesboro, Virginia last weekend for the Annual Summer Barn Show and Gallery Open House. The Gallery was beautiful and the weather was perfect. This small city has such a big heart and it was certainly out for all to enjoy.

The Waynesboro Gallery beautifully captures the spirit of my museum with its thoughtful displays. I love seeing my work framed!

Angie and Scott Clawson visiting the gallery. Angie works for Moss Galleries in Mathews as our printmaker, website manager, and is an integral part of the team.

I was delighted to reunite with dear friends Bonnie Lou Binnig, who travelled from Florida, and Shirley Collins. Photo bomb by Una Ballerina.

Friday evening I went with collectors and friends to my son John’s restaurant in Luray. He and his wife Maureen, continue to delight us with their creative culinary skills. It brings me such joy to see my children succeed.

I had a special visitor to the porch of my cottage Friday evening. Good thing that everyone had gone to dinner!

Saturday night was the Annual Fundraising Dinner for the Moss Foundation held at my home. Imagine having your friends and family gathered together at your home with wonderful music and food, surrounded by art in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains! It was a memorable evening and I had the best time. Foundation president, Sandy Moore, reported that the preliminary figures for monies raised more than doubled last year’s event. This is such good news for all the Foundation programs. While interest rates are still low, this assistance allows us to continue to fund existing programs and grow new programs. Need more information about the Moss Foundation? Would you like to help? Here’s a link for you to follow to the new website.

You are also welcome to call the Foundation office at 800-430-1320. Office hours are 8:30 am – 5pm, Eastern, Monday through Friday.

Music provided by Richmond duo, The Little Tangents, set the mood for the evening. Their gentle harmonies and musical selections made the evening festive. The live auction quilt, pictured in the background, was taken home by Mark Ritter. His generous bid of $2040.00 for this Jeannine McNeill and Linda Gorman quilt will fund two scholarships this year.

I am pictured here with Jeannine McNeill and Linda Gorman when they completed the quilt in 2015. These two ladies have collaborated and donated their skills and time to create beautifully quilted masterpieces to be used to raise funds. I thank you so much!

Moss Foundation president Sandy Moore was our auctioneer. What a fine job she did!

I would like to thank everyone who made this weekend special. I was surrounded with the love of friends, new and old. Together we made a difference in children’s education.
