Dear Friends,

Although the days are noticeably shorter, what a welcome the cooler temperatures are. I recently visited Richmond’s Cullather Brain Tumor Quality of Life Institute at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital. Envisioned by Jack Cullather, the center opened its doors in 2007. This wonderful place provides one-on-one care for the patients living with brain tumors. I am on the advisory board, having helped when the center was just beginning. It was good to check in. I marveled at all the programs that have been developed to provide the necessary care for all aspects of the patient’s life, including support for their families. Several patients and family members shared their stories with me. One thing that I didn’t know was the Central Virginia Celtic Festival and Highland Games are a big supporter of the center. Held at the Richmond International Race Complex, the festival donated $140,000 to Cullather from their proceeds last year. The 2019 festival is right around the corner and I have a link to share with you to their website. http://vacelticfestival.com/ Family members of mine that have gone have said that it was a unique experience and they look forward to going again. What a great way to help others and have a good time too.

The “engine” that propels Cullather. Pictured with me are, my daughter Becky, Sandy
, Jack Cullather, and Louise. The Cullather Institute is a non-profit and relies solely on charitable donations to fund the services offered. Patients of the center are not charged for services. Their website is a great resource to learn more. Here is the address. http://cullather.org/

My show schedule resumes with a much anticipated visit this weekend to The Art Loft Gallery in Collinsville, Illinois. I haven’t been there since 2016, so we will have a lot of catching up to do. This beautiful gallery, located in a former residence, showcases 125- 130 framed Moss prints on 2 floors. This gives collectors such a good way to envision my art framed in their homes. Gallery owner Carolyn Welch also has framed a Blessed Peace print of mine which I will be signing upon arrival. This print is to be a gift from the gallery to the Siteman Cancer Center located in St. Peters, Missouri. Speaking of framing, be sure to ask Carolyn about her framing special that begins on Friday, September 27th. The gallery’s carriage house is where you will find refreshments, the 2019 Moss Foundation Raffle Quilt and members of the local P.E.O. Chapter holding a raffle for a scholarship. I can’t wait to see all the changes in the gallery, but most of all, I am excited to see my dear friends and collectors. The gallery is located at 702 St. Louis Street. Friday night’s show is from 6 pm until 8 pm, and Saturday show hours are 10 am until 4 pm.

The 2 new prints being released feature the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge. Any military veteran purchasing either print at this show, will receive a gift print
Spirit of Service as a thank you. Please show military ID.

In exactly one week I will be in Berlin, Ohio for a show with Berlin Creek and Blue River Galleries. Located in the heart of Amish country, it is such a welcoming place to visit. Over the years, when I have been there, gallery owner Nancy Tarzan has seen to it that my trip is unique, educational and most of all, fun. I’m wondering where we will go this year. Additionally each year we try to take a picture together. I found this one from 2014.

Berlin Creek Gallery staff from 2014: Alysha, me, Tracy and gallery owner, Nancy Tarzan.

This year we are releasing a new print titled, A Simple Life. Orders are being taken by the gallery and custom framing is available. Show dates and times are Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th, 10 am until 3:30 pm each day. To pre order your print or for more information, please call the gallery at 330-893-2686.
