Dear Friends,

My friend Clinton was all smiles as he styled my hair in preparation for my travels.

It is show time and I am on the way to Berlin Creek Galleries, located in the heart of Ohio Amish country, for a gallery open house on October 2nd and 3rd. Recently, I was in conversation with my Radford neighbors the Stutzman’s. What’s new on my drawing table was the topic of conversation and I was showing them my latest creations, which included the new print for Berlin Creek Gallery, Peace Bridge. As it turns out, Warren Stutzman recognized the bridge and is part of the Stutzman family whose land the new bridge is situated on. Isn’t that amazing? Here is what Warren had to say. “Pat Moss's recent painting Peace Bridge caught my attention because of its ties to my family background. Stutzman is my last name and I have many family connections to the Amish country in Ohio where the bridge is located.  In fact, the bridge was recently renamed "Stutzman's Crossing Bridge". It turns out the bridge was named for Jonas Stutzman who came to Ohio from Pennsylvania in 1809. He and the many Stutzman’s who preceded him left Switzerland due to religious persecution of the Amish. The first Stutzman in my family arrived in the New World in 1727 on a sailing ship; many of the family members perished during that trip. Jonas Stutzman is a great-great-great uncle to me. I live on Claytor Lake in Pulaski County, VA, and look forward to hanging a Moss print of the bridge in my house.”

For this show Berlin Creek Gallery has implemented the following measures to ensure the safety of all of us. You will need to wear a face covering and maintain a 6 foot distance from others. For those collectors and friends who would rather remain outside, the gallery staff will make it easy for you to pick up your purchases. Just call 330-893-2686 for assistance. We want to gather again next year and the year after so let’s all do everything we can to make this a safe and enjoyable visit.

How exciting that we will be holding the Annual Fall Barn Show and Gallery Open House in Waynesboro on October 9th-11th. The Moss Gallery of Waynesboro has put together a fundraiser for Cat’s Cradle beginning Thursday, October 1st and running through Wednesday, October 14th. A percentage of the proceeds from the sales of specially selected cat prints will be donated by the gallery in support of the various programs administered by this compassionate organization. All of the chosen artwork features a cat as the predominant subject and many are beautifully framed and ready for your wall. Cats have been a favorite subject of mine for years. To learn more about Cat’s Cradle, please take a moment to visit their website https://www.catscradleva.org/.

Pounce. This is definitely a favorite of mine among the many framed cat prints that are available at the Moss Gallery of Waynesboro. For information, please contact the gallery at 540-949-6473.
