Dear Friends,

As I sit here in my studio, I find that my concentration keeps wandering. I have a considerable amount of work that I need to finish, but I keep thinking about my recent travels and upcoming shows. Last weekend’s visit to Berlin, Ohio was sensational. I’d like to thank everyone who came to my show at Berlin Creek, as well as Nancy Tarzan and her staff for putting together another fun adventure for me. I cannot believe how much we saw and did, and ate.

Collectors and friends alike shared their smiles and stories with me. Such a wonderful weekend.

One of the highlights of my visit was a tour of a local roundhouse. The Age of Steam Roundhouse is located in nearby Sugarcreek, Ohio. The 34 acre property is adjacent to the Ohio Central Railway main track. Founder Jerry Jacobson is a train enthusiast and conceived the idea for a museum site to house his train collection. His particular interest was with the steam engine, and the museum has 22 steam locomotives in various states of preservation and restoration. What was really impressive, is his fully operational 18 stall roundhouse that surrounds a 115 ft. turntable. This is a fascinating place to visit and you can learn more about it by following this link. https://www.ageofsteamroundhouse.org/

This locomotive has the distinction of having been used for President Truman’s 1948 re-election campaign. Constructed in 1942 by American Locomotive Company’s Schenectady Works, Grand Trunk Western 4-8-4 No.6325 hauled both wartime freight and passenger trains between Detroit and Chicago. So impressive!

Next stop is Waynesboro, Virginia. I am always anxious to return home for the Annual Fall Barn Show & Gallery Open House. This is also the weekend of the 49th Annual Downtown Fall Foliage Festival. I have participated in the festival since its inception and cherish the friends that I have made over the years.

I am excited to share with you this very special print release. Four years ago, I did a print titled, The Nutcracker. It was so well received that numerous requests were made for additional prints featuring other aspects and characters from the nutcracker story. The Waltz of the Snowflakes is the 4th print in my Nutcracker series. The image size is 7-1/2 x 15-5/8 inches and it will sell for $100.

My Nutcracker series prints from L to R:

The Nutcracker, Giclée on paper, Small: $50, IS: 7-1/2 x 4-1/4 ins., Medium: $230, IS: 22 x 12-1/2 ins.;

The Nutcracker-Prince of Dreams, $50, Giclée on paper, IS: 7-1/4 x 4-11/16 ins.;

The Nutcracker-Sugar Plum Fairy, Giclée on paper, Small: $50, IS: 7-1/2 x 4-1/4 ins., Medium: $230, IS: 22 x 12-1/2 ins.

My new print titled
, Claudius Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel will also be released at the Waynesboro Gallery on Friday, October 11th at 10 am. You may preorder your print by calling the gallery at 540-949-6473. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this print will benefit the restoration process that is being spearheaded by the Blue Ridge Tunnel Foundation.

The Moss Foundation is participating in the Fall Foliage Festival. Look for their tent at 329 W Main St in front of the Moss Gallery. There will be much merriment as the children will be assembling and painting balsa wood planes. Children, and those young at heart are encouraged to participate. This will be a free event, but donations will be gratefully accepted. The Moss Foundation continues to raise awareness for the need for integration of the arts into all phases of learning as well as showing just what fun art can be.

Supplies are ready for this year’s children’s activity booth at the Fall Foliage Festival.

Looking even further ahead, I will be in Hanover, Pennsylvania on Saturday, October 19th for a gallery open house with my dear friends at Martin’s Gallery. This year we will be releasing a print that celebrates the local landmark, Hanover Farmer’s Market. Here is a preview of the print. I will have more information on this show in next week’s newsletter. For now, I must get back to work.

Hanover Farmer’s Market, $75, IS: 5-1/2 x 14 ins.

Until Next week,

Love,
