Dear Friends,

The orange from the maple treetops and the setting sun cast a warm glow over the valley as I arrived in Waynesboro for the Annual Fall Barn Show & Gallery Open House. I thought of it as a big welcome home sign. My Barn and the Cottage had been thoughtfully tended to and the gardens were radiant with marigold blossoms. I have pictures to share detailing this wonderful weekend.

The Claudius Crozet Blue Ridge Tunnel print was released this weekend with a portion of the proceeds from the sales in the month of October to benefit the tunnel restoration efforts. I was delighted to meet members of this organization and learn about the current state of the restoration project. To learn more, please follow this link.

Another fun aspect of the weekend was the Annual Fall Foliage Festival being held right in front of the gallery. The streets were filled with attendees, and children eagerly awaited their turn to visit the Moss Foundation tent. This year’s Foundation art activity focused on aviation, which provided an opportunity for the children to paint airplanes. The free event really underscored the need for art education that is readily available. The Moss Foundation provides grants annually to teachers who integrate art into their classrooms that embraces students of all learning levels. When awarded, these grant monies purchase a diverse array of art supplies. Currently the grant reading committee is reviewing the 2019 applications. I will share the list of winners and their projects in a future newsletter.

I popped into the Foundation tent from time to time. What fun everyone was having!

This Saturday, October 19th, I will be in Hanover, PA for a one day show at Martin’s Gallery on Baltimore St. This year’s new release at the gallery features a well-known local farmer’s market. The Hanover Farmer’s Market is the title of my new print. The current structure, as depicted in the print, was erected in 1933. For more than 85 years, local vendors have sold their wares at this location on every Saturday of the year from 6 am until 12 pm, noon. The original structure was on the center square and had been built in 1815. It had the unique distinction of housing Hanover’s only jail cell at the time. I hope you’ll join me for this festive occasion. I’ll be at 929 Baltimore St from 10 am until 5 pm. For information, directions or to pre order your print, Martin’s phone number is 717-632-3355. Be sure to inquire about custom framing.

The Hanover Farmer’s Market is located at 210 East Chestnut St.

The Hanover Farmer’s Market, $75, IS: 5-1/2 x 14 ins., Edition 250 and 25 ap’s

I have to tell you that I have been really excited about all the gallery shows this fall. October 25-26 I will be at Canada Goose Gallery in Waynesville, Ohio and it promises to be a big event. I will be arriving a day early for an evening reception at the gallery from 6 pm until 8 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Area P.E.O. members will be in attendance and it will be a great time to learn about their work in Ohio. If you’re not familiar with them, the P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization that in 2019 is celebrating 150 years of providing motivation, support and educational opportunities for women through scholarships, grants, awards and loans. Here is a link to their website where you can learn more.

Little Marguerite is my new print in celebration of the success of the individual P.E.O. member. This print was done to compliment the Seven Sisters print, released to the P.E.O. earlier this year for their anniversary celebration. Canada Goose Gallery will be donating a portion of the proceeds from the sales of this print to benefit the area’s chapter. For more information, please contact Canada Goose Gallery at 513-897-4348. Little Marguerite, $40, IS: 6-5/8 x 2-1/8 ins.

The show hours will be from 10 am until 5 pm each day. Following the Saturday show there will be the big PALS for Life dinner that is hosted by the gallery. This dinner is a fundraiser to support this vital organization which provides services for those with breast cancer. As a survivor, I am happy to be a part of this event every year and to share my story with others. The dinner is at Faith Lutheran Church, 3315 Martel Drive in Dayton from 6 pm until 9 pm. To make your reservation, please call the gallery at 513-897-4+348 or visit them on the web at One of the many highlights of the dinner is this year’s basket raffle. If you cannot attend the dinner, but still want to help, the raffle baskets can be viewed by following the link above.
