Dear Friends,

Kalona, Iowa is a beautiful place. I had the privilege of visiting last weekend. Doris Greiner of The Village Shoppe and I released my new print, Springtime at the Chapel. What a wonderful time we shared at the Gallery Open House. This year, like last, the open house was held at the Kalona Quilt and Textile Museum. The museum is a treasure trove of quilting history, including antique spool cabinets. It is separated into 2 galleries. One gallery houses the Amish textiles and the other side features the English quilts. The exhibits change every 3 months so there is always something new for me to see when I go!

Lovely framed pieces were available for collectors to select from.

To further enhance our visit to Kalona, we had the extraordinary good fortune to stay at the Kalona Bed and Breakfast as guests of Ken and Leigh Miller. Because Ken is a chef, the food was exceptional.  In the heart of Amish country, I can’t think of a better place to stay! One of many delicious meals that we had in Kalona was at the Tuscan Grill.

This is the room that we enjoyed at the Kalona Bed and Breakfast.

To complete our visit we enjoyed a traditional Amish meal with friends.

My daughter Becky and I will be in Waynesville, Ohio this week for the annual gallery open house and benefit by Canada Goose Gallery. Gallery owner, Laura Deramus, has been a Moss dealer for 30 years and has one of the most extensive collection of my older artwork. It is always such a pleasure to visit her gallery. Together we will release my 3 new Halloween themed pieces titled, October Play Day, Black Cat Ball and Double Trouble, with a number of them already framed and ready for your wall. The Open House will be from 10-5 on Friday, October 27th and Saturday, October 28th.

Canada Goose Gallery will also be hosting a fundraiser for Pals For Life, a breast cancer support group. There will be music, a basket raffle and dinner. I will be there signing prints.  Over the years, I have enjoyed working with Laura and this group as we provide assistance and support for patients. This event will be held Friday, October 27th, at 6pm at Keepin’ It Country Farm. For more details on this event please contact Canada Goose Gallery at 513-897-4348.

To close this weekend, or maybe begin a new week, I will be at Sinkland Farms in Christiansburg, Va Sunday, October 29th.  This event is co-hosted by my Blacksburg Gallery and Sinkland Farms. Come enjoy Fun in the Pumpkin Patch as we release my new print. Some of the proceeds from this print will go to Feeding America, Southwestern Virginia. The gallery will be bringing other prints to this show as well. It will be a great time and I hope to see you there!
