Dear Friends,
The night before a Barn Show tends to be just another quiet night at home. This year we changed it up a bit and I’m so happy that we did. Becky and I joined Sandy and Harold Boone at my son John’s restaurant, Moonshadows, in Luray, VA. You can call me proud mama, but his dishes are divine, especially the seafood. 5 Stars!
My son John.
The Winter Barn Show is especially dear to me. Every year, my daughter Ginny coordinates the big Christmas tree decoration with a local school. This year my house and tree were full of decorations made by students from Waynesboro’s William Perry Elementary School. Teacher Margaret Morris led the program at the school which transformed my barn into a bright Christmas wonderland.

Nothing makes my heart swell like being in the company of children and sharing their wonder and awe. Greeting students and family from William Perry Elementary School.
I just love having a house full of young people!
What a magnificent job the students did in making my home so festive and bright!
Saturday evening we went to our local favorite restaurant, The Greenleaf. What we had forgotten about was that it was the night of the Waynesboro Christmas parade. The parade provided an unexpected show to accompany our fine dinner.
My daughter Patty and I walked the parade route to The Greenleaf by the light of an almost full moon. It was magical!
Moss on the James chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society joined me Sunday morning for breakfast. This wonderful chapter was chartered in 1989 and is continuing to grow. They serve the Richmond, VA community through numerous projects. Most recently the chapter prepared and served meals for the Doorways, a hospitality house affiliated with the VCU Medical Center.
Members of Moss on the James gathered around my table for introductions and a blessing. Look at this feast!
MOTJ has talent too! I love it when my guests sit at the piano and fill my house with music.
I am so grateful for all the people that make up the Society network. To become a member of the P. Buckley Moss Society call 800-430-1320 or follow this link, http://mosssociety.org/.
Just imagine my delight as four lovely dancers strode into my Waynesboro Gallery on Sunday! It was the last day of my Winter Barn Show and Gallery Open House and one of many highlights from a weekend to remember. The Nutcracker-Prince of Dreams, my new print, had just been released. The Waynesboro Gallery donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale of this print to their school, Old Dominion Performing Arts Studio. These ladies donned their costumes and came to the gallery to personally say thank you. Old Dominion Performing Arts Studio is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to offering their programs to as many students as possible.
Art meets art. A graceful preview of the Nutcracker Ballet to be performed in Waynesboro, VA Saturday, December 16th and Sunday, December 17th. Call 540-324-4049 for details and tickets.
I was so excited to announce the winner of the 10-month long Moss Foundation quilt raffle. The winner is Judy Mitchell of Rockingham, Virginia. Thank you to Robin Jones of Georgia for this magnificent creation and everyone who participated in the raffle. We raised $1,853.00, which will be going into the P. Buckley Moss Endowed Scholarship fund.
We held the drawing in the Waynesboro Gallery. Dear friend Shirley Collins assisted me with the drawing.
Here I am talking with an astounded Judy about her winning the quilt.

Gallery Art Center in Columbus, Ohio is my next stop on my fall tour. Owner Suzi Campbell is a second generation owner having continued the framing business started by her father. What a wealth of knowledge and expertise you can find when you visit this shop. Together we will be releasing two new prints, A Buckeye Christmas and Unconditional Ohio Love. Won’t you join us?
