Dear Friends,

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor.”
-Charles Dickens

Have you ever had so much fun in a day that when you look back at it, you’re astounded that it was just one day?  Last Saturday we smiled, hugged, and shared stories as we gathered at King James Galleries Gettysburg for their holiday open house.

Gallery manager Debra Starry and I had the best time with her Moss inspired snowman. Here we are pictured together with my new print,
Gatehouse Holiday, framed beautifully.

Friends, collectors and even a few characters filled my day
. What a wonderful show and thank you everyone who came and to the gallery staff that made my visit so enjoyable.

I’m headed home this weekend for the annual Winter Barn Show & Gallery Open House. Joining me will be 3 of my daughters and I hope we can all take a little trek over the mountain to my son John’s Restaurant, Moonshadows, in Luray. Doesn’t it seem as you get older it becomes harder to have a full family reunion? The Barn Show will begin Friday morning promptly with the opening of the gallery doors at 10 am and the release of my new print, Winter’s Tranquility. I will welcome friends and collectors at my home on Providence Lane starting at 11 am. Look for all of the uniquely framed new prints on display at the gallery. I can’t wait to see how the 2019 Christmas print, Christmas Day, has been framed!

My 2019 Annual Christmas print,
Christmas Day.  IS: 11-3/8 x 8-13/16 ins. Edition: 1,000 and 25 artist’s proofs. $85

No Christmas is complete without a new Kringle print!
A Kringle Holiday Dream.
IS: 6 x 4-7/8 ins. Edition: 250 and 25 artist's proofs $50

All of the contributing artists from Wilson Elementary School who made my tree decorations this year have been invited to the Barn on Saturday morning for a special Christmas celebration and tree lighting. My daughter Ginny meticulously coordinates this event and it has become a highlight of the Christmas season for me. This year’s theme is “Something Sparkly.”

Isn’t it glorious? I just love my Christmas tree. I can’t wait to meet and thank the Wilson Elementary artists who created the ornaments

On Sunday morning the Moss on the James Chapter of the P Buckley Moss Society will share a holiday breakfast with me. Then I will be at the Waynesboro Gallery from noon until 4 pm, and we will be drawing the winner for the 2019 Moss Foundation raffle quilt. Raffle tickets will be available during the Barn Show for purchase. So much to look forward to and I hope you’ll be able to join me for this festive holiday open house. For show information please call the gallery at 540-949-6473.

I want to wish my daughter Patty (blue jacket) a belated Happy Birthday. She had some surprise visitors who secretly flew in from Colorado to share her big day with her. They spent the weekend touring Virginia Beach.

I will close my fall show season with an open house at the P Buckley Moss Gallery of Blacksburg. The dates are Saturday, December 21st and Sunday December 22nd. My daughters have put together a holiday themed Moss gift basket for 1 lucky guest. I slipped into the gallery and took a picture of it.

Each gallery visitor will receive 1 chance for winning this lovely basket. Anyone who makes a purchase will receive 3 additional chances. Wouldn’t you just love to have it?

This open house will be more like a Christmas party so I invite everyone to stop by and share some refreshments with me and my family. This is the gallery’s first Christmas in their new location at Kent Square, 216 South Main St in Blacksburg, VA. Parking is readily available in the nearby deck, and the new neighbors are wonderful. I will be there from 11 am until 5 pm on Saturday, and from noon until 3 pm on Sunday to meet you and sign artwork.

Do you need any last minute gift ideas?
This year Moss Galleries and I tried something new at the request of some of my collectors. In addition to the ornaments, we made trivets. All of this work is being done at my distribution center in Mathews, Virginia, and I’m so happy with the results! Pictured here are:

Promise of Spring Ceramic Trivet, Single trivet for $12 or Set of four for$35. 4-1/4 inch square

Shades of Pink Ceramic Trivet, $20 each. 6 inch square.
All Roads Lead Home, Porcelain Ornament, 3-5/16 ins diameter. $42 each

Sweet Nectar, Porcelain Ornament, 3-5/16 ins diameter. $42 each.

Until next week,
