Dear Friends,

“Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” Edith Sitwell

What better way is there to share warmth and comfort other than the gathering of family and friends? Coming up on Saturday, December 16th is my final show for 2023. The P Buckley Moss Gallery of Blacksburg will be hosting a two-day holiday open house. Located at 216 S Main St, the gallery can be found inside Kent Square. Gallery manager Wendy Nester along with my daughter Mary and grandson Sean will join me. I hope you can too. All of my new releases for 2023 will be available. In last week’s newsletter I introduced my Christmas print, Winter Whispers. It is the featured print for this show.

Winter Whispers. IS: 9.79” x 9.78.” Edition: 1,000 with 25 Artist Proofs.

Regular edition price: $80.

Last weekend’s visit to Gallery Art Center in Columbus was tremendous. Good conversation was bountiful and the day was filled with reunions. We celebrated the gallery’s 45th anniversary too. What an achievement! The gallery was literally abuzz with activity, which fit in well with the release of my new print Bee Abuzzing.

The idea for Bee Abuzzing came from Brent Bailey. He shared his concern with me about the plight of our pollinators and asked me to create a painting that directed your attention to a bee and a flower. He said, “Bee Abuzzing was created to promote the awareness of bee safety - we need them and the job they do for the human race to survive - Save the Bees. IS: 6.79” x 11.45” $70.

Carmen Hadley won the 2023 Moss Foundation Quilt and came to the show to pick it up.

Steve, Suzi and me. Merry Christmas and thank you for hosting such a wonderful show.

Until next week,
