Dear Friends:
Things have quieted down since Christmas, the wedding, and New Year’s, and I’ve been able to spend more time in my studio, loving every minute of it. I have a new painting and print edition titled Mom’s Lesson, which I will be signing at my new gallery at 223 Gilbert Street in Blacksburg, Virginia, this weekend. I’ll be there Saturday, January 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sunday, January 18, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m.
The inspiration for this painting was the experience of teaching my children how to ice skate.
I remember the first time I took my children ice skating. What fun it was for us all when they started standing up on their skates. Having learned how to skate in the North and being up on skates at a very young age, I thought everyone could just do it. When they fell down and asked me what to do, I said, “You just push off,” and they did. What good memories!
In time for Valentine’s Day, Sweethearts will also be available this weekend at our Blacksburg gallery.
I’ll also have a selection of new originals at the show this weekend. We’d love you all to see our new Blacksburg gallery and celebrate the beauty of winter with us—and don’t forget that we also have a new gallery in downtown Waynesboro, Virginia.
Be sure to visit your local gallery after the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. It’s a great time of year to relax and leisurely enjoy the art and appreciate how your dealer frames. The galleries that carry my art are warm and welcoming and truly appreciate your business.
Love,
