Dear Friends:
My daughter Mary and I are excited about our upcoming Quilt Camp at Sea cruise to Australia and New Zealand. We’ll be going in February. One of the fun things we do is a quilt square exchange among the cruise participants. It’s so enjoyable to see what other people do for the trip and participate in the exchange. I like to paint images that are familiar to the area we are visiting, and Mary quilts them. For this trip, I’ve painted koalas and kangaroos. We only need one square a piece to take with us for the exchange, but I had so much fun that I painted some extras.
New Zealand and Australia-inspired quilt squares.
I’ve also created a special print for Valentine’s Day, which will be here before we know it.
Love Song is available from your favorite Moss dealer and P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd.
I thought it would be interesting to share before and after pictures of a remarqued print I recently finished. A remarque is when I paint something extra directly onto an existing print, making it one of a kind.
Appalachian Splendor, left, is my 2015 fundraising print for Blue Ridge Public Television. The image on the right is the same print after I remarqued it.
Virginia is preparing for its first major snowstorm of the season this weekend. Stay safe and stay warm!
