Dear Friends:
Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints on winning the Super Bowl!
What a wonderful morale-booster for the City of New Orleans, which is
still recovering from Hurricane Katrina! Can you believe I made four
dozen deviled eggs to take to a Super Bowl party?
The votes are in for the two paintings I showed you last week for this
year's adult Society Members-Only
Print. Collectors voted almost 2:1 in favor of my second version of
Angel in my Garden. I'm also ready to show you my painting
for this year's junior Society Members-Only Print. It hasn't been titled
yet.
This currently untitled painting will be the junior Members-Only
Print for 2010. Children aged 17 and under who either join the P.
Buckley Moss Society or renew their memberships in 2010 will be
eligible to purchase this print.
This version of Angel in my Garden will be the adult Members-Only
Print for 2010. Those adult collectors either joining the Society or
renewing their memberships in 2010 will be eligible to purchase this
print.
I'm still working on my painting for horse rescue that I first told
you about a few weeks ago, but it's almost finished. This painting will
be released as a print during my show with Finn Gallery here in St.
Petersburg, Florida, the weekend of March 12-14, and a portion of the
proceeds from the edition will benefit Casey's
Place Animal Sanctuary, Inc., in Brooksville, Florida, and other
horse rescue organizations.

Stolen Quilt Alert! I donated two of my unique, hand-painted quilt
squares to the National Make It With Wool Sewing Competition Fundraiser.
Make It With Wool supplied the woolen fabric squares for me to work
on. One of the squares became the centerpiece of a large quilt that
was to be raffled off last month during Make It With Wool's national
event. On January 20, 2010, just three days before the drawing for the
raffle winner was to take place, the quilt and several contestant prizes
were stolen from the "secure" room at the Sheraton Downtown
Nashville (Tennessee).
Please take a look at these pictures and notify The Moss Portfolio
immediately if you see this quilt.
This quilt is very large; not a wall hanging.
This is a close-up of my donated square, which is the centerpiece
for the quilt.
The Moss Museum
in Waynesboro, Virginia, received approximately another two feet of
snow last weekend. In Luray, where my son John lives, it snowed three
feet! Artisans Grill in Luray, where John is the chef, has been closed
for over a week, and everyone is praying to go back to work. Mathews
got approximately three inches. More is expected Tuesday through Wednesday.
I'm so glad I'm in Florida right now!
Museum Director Corrado Gabellieri, getting ready for last weekend's
snowstorm. He was closely supervised by family pet Winnie.
Happy Valentine's Day this Sunday!
Love,
Pat
