Dear Friends:
I’m still snowed in and loving the peace and quiet to work. I do think of my friends in St. Petersburg, Florida, and how warm and lovely it is there, and I miss being able to walk with them everyday. It’s too precarious here in the snow to walk right now, but spring will come!
This work-in-progress depicts Concord Covered Bridge, which spans Nickajack Creek in Smyrna, GA. I will be adding a pair of geese in the foreground. It will be released during my show with The Framery in Marietta, GA, March 22-23. For more information, please contact the gallery at 770-977-8667.
These two works-in-progress depict the Strasburg Mill in Strasburg, VA, and will be released during my show with King James Galleries of Winchester on March 29. I will be adding a hay wagon to the piece on the left. For more information, please contact the gallery at 540-869-9025.
Love,
Pat
Announcing the 2014 Society Trip
We are pleased to announce the 2014 Society Trip: “San Francisco and Wine Country Delights”, from Friday, August 29, through Friday, September 5. The trip will begin in San Francisco, where guests will spend three nights at the beautiful Hyatt Regency at Fisherman’s Wharf and enjoy a welcome reception. Our time in San Francisco will include tours of Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, a local cookie factory, Farmers’ Market, Haight-Ashbury, and Muir Woods and will include the sampling of many local delicacies.
On Day 4 (Monday) we will travel by motor coach to Sonoma, where we will spend four nights at the lovely Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn. In Sonoma, we will visit historic Sonoma Plaza and the Mission San Francisco de Solario (the last California mission built), an olive press, and Ravenswood Winery, where we will create our own personal blend of fine wine. We will go by motor coach to Napa, where we will enjoy the Oxbow Market, V. Sattui Winery in St. Helena, the historic Town of St. Helena itself, the Castello di Amoroso Castle and Winery in Calistoga, lunch in a cask room, and Flora Springs Winery. We will prepare and eat a four course dinner with wine and champagne. Prior to returning to San Francisco (airport or hotel) on Day 8, we will visit the Domaine Carneros Winery, noted for its sparkling wines. In total, we will visit seven different wineries and enjoy some free time on our own to explore San Francisco, Napa, and Sonoma.
At this time, the cost of the trip is estimated to be $2,450 per person, based on double occupancy. If the trip is paid in full by April 29, a discount of 5% will be applied. This price does not include airfare to and from San Francisco but does include airport and hotel transfers, taxes, gratuities, all wine tastings and local food samplings, seven full breakfasts, one picnic lunch, four full dinners, and a cooking class.
Complete details will follow. Please consider joining your fellow Society members and friends as we journey to one of the most interesting and beautiful parts of our country.
