Dear Friends:

Spring is here!  I spent the weekend working in my yard in Mathews, Virginia.  It was wonderful to be outside enjoying the birds and the water and watching the boats go in and out the creek.

I’m very pleased to report that my leg is healing nicely, and I’m able to get around without crutches.  I hardly even have a limp!  My advice to everyone is to walk.  I know that regular walking has kept my bones strong and made my quick recovery possible.  I do miss my walking friends in Florida and long to walk and talk with them again.

This weekend I’ll be in historic Frederick, Maryland, for my show with McGuire Fine Arts, and we’ll release my new giclée on paper titled Afternoon at Sugarloaf, featuring nearby Sugarloaf Mountain.  I was so taken with Sugarloaf that I kept painting different versions of it.  I’m eager to see how people like our choice for the print.  The other originals will be available at the show, and my friend Jon Thames with McGuire Fine Arts will be happy to show them to anyone who is interested.

Afternoon at Sugarloaf will be released as a giclée on paper during my show with McGuire Fine Arts in Frederick, MD, on Saturday, April 9.  For more information, please call the gallery at 301-695-6567.

Also this weekend, the P. Buckley Moss Museum in Waynesboro, Virginia, will host the Virginia Chapter of the World Organization of China Painters (WOCP) for its 2011 Exhibition and Convention:  Artistry on Porcelain.  For more information, please call the Museum at 1-800-343-8643 or 540-949-6473.

The Museum has several fun events planned for the end of April, including our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m.; the opening of the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School Visual Arts Department’s annual exhibit on Thursday, April 28; and the Museum’s Open House and Barn Show the weekend of April 29-May 1.  Hurray!  Hurray!  I get to be in the Valley for the weekend and see my friends and grandkids!

Country Memories will be released as a giclée on paper during my April 29-May 1 Museum Open House and Barn Show in Waynesboro, VA.  For more information, please contact the P. Buckley Moss Museum at 1-800-343-8643 or 540-949-6473.
