Dear Friends:
The Quilters’ Heritage Celebration in Lancaster, Pennsylvania,
was such fun! Event coordinator Rita Barber runs a beautiful show.
She’s always present, always on the job, making sure everything
is perfect for everybody.
It was a joy for me to be around all that beauty and creativity.
I walked around and photographed quilts, talked to people, and (of course)
invested in a couple pieces of clothing. I was delighted to see
John and Brooke Flynn and their daughter Kate Nichols again. Last
year I bought a quilting machine from them, but I haven’t had
time to set it up or use it. They had one set up in their booth
and gave me a lesson. Oh, to have a million hours in a day and
a million rooms in my house! I would dedicate a room to each of
my favorite arts; watercolor, oils, acrylic, etching, sculpture, quilting,
sewing—all!
I bought a machine just like this at last year’s show but
haven’t had time to set it up or use it. I so much appreciated
Kate (left) and Brooke (right) giving me a lesson and letting me play
with theirs.
I’m going to Waynesboro, Virginia, this weekend
to spend Easter with my family. The P.
Buckley Moss Museum is going to hold its annual Easter egg hunt
this Saturday, April 11, at 1:00 p.m. Magician Brian Bence will
perform first, followed by the Easter egg hunt. “The Magic
of Brian Bence” is truly a treat, and we’ll also have another
very special guest, the Easter Bunny himself! Please call the
Museum at 1-800-343-8643 or 540-949-6473 to register. The annual
Easter egg hunt is co-sponsored by the P.
Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education.
I’m looking forward to seeing my Iowa friends when I go to Kenneth
Paul Gallery’s show April 18. Kenneth Paul Gallery has moved
to a new location since I was there last year, and I can’t wait
to show in the new space. The gallery is now located at 10890
Douglas Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa.
Remembering the Iowa State Fair will be released April 18 during
my show with Kenneth Paul Gallery in Des Moines, IA. For more
information, please contact the gallery at 515-278-4378.
I’ll return to Waynesboro, Virginia, to see my
Valley friends April 24-26 for my Barn
Show and Museum Open House. I can hardly wait! The Valley
is so beautiful this time of year, with the redbud and dogwood in bloom
against a background of green.
Valley Mill will be released during my April Barn Show and Museum
Open House, April 24-26. For more information, please contact
the Museum at 1-800-343-8643 or 540-949-6473.
My thoughts and prayers are with those poor people in
Italy who suffered the terrible earthquake this week. I am blessed
once again, for my daughter Becky and her family who live in Cortona
are far enough away from the epicenter that they have been unaffected
by it. The family of Corrado Gabellieri, my daughter Ginny’s
husband, lives a bit closer, but I don’t think they suffered any
damage either. I feel so sad for those who have lost their loved
ones and their homes.
Happy Easter and God bless!
Love,
Pat
