Dear Friends:
It's great to be back in Virginia! It's a good thing that I enjoy gardening,
because my yard and flower beds are loving spring!
My daughter Patty flew down to St. Petersburg, Florida, the end of
last week to help me pack up the van and drive home over the weekend.
Patty joined me for a special birthday dinner for Bonnie-Lou Binnig,
the President of the Moss Pelicans Chapter of the P.
Buckley Moss Society. It was Bonnie-Lou's "__" birthday.
(I'm not supposed to tell what number birthday it was.) We enjoyed our
evening with friends. The next day we were on our way to Virginia, and
the traffic was horrendous with students returning home from spring
break.
Celebrating the birthday of Moss Pelicans Chapter President Bonnie-Lou
Binnig; Bonnie-Lou is giving me a hug on the left side of the table.
My youngest daughter Ginny and her son Picco stayed with me in St.
Petersburg this past weekend before I left for Virginia. They came down
for Accepted Students Day at Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota.
Picco is really excited about going to this college, and I'm excited
for him. It seems like a very good school, with an emphasis on work
ethic. It reminds me of The Cooper Union in New York, where I was privileged
to attend.
Picco thinks he's going to really like attending college in Sarasota.
Siesta Beach is near the Ringling College, with white sand and beautiful
water.
Picco was thrilled Saturday when he discovered that the Festival of
Speed was being set up in the park across from my house-another view
from my window. He had such fun looking at all the cars, including Aston
Martins, Lamborghinis, Porsches, Spykers, Jaguars, etc. He got to sit
in the Jaguar prototype and dream.
Ain't she a beauty! Picco got to sit in the Jaguar prototype at
the Festival of Speed in the park across from my house in St. Pete.
This weekend I'll be with my new authorized dealer in Frederick, Maryland,
for a show. McGuire Fine Arts was granted the dealership after Thames
Fine Arts closed last year. Gallery owner David McGuire and I will launch
my newest print of the area, Springtime Spires at Carroll Creek.
Springtime Spires at Carroll Creek will be released as a limited
edition giclée on paper during my show with McGuire Fine Arts
on April 17. For more information, please contact the gallery at 301-695-6567.
We are working on a coffee table book about the philanthropic aspect
of my art. If you have pictures of any events with me like balloon rides,
walks, school talks, convention events, etc., that pertain to fundraising,
please send copies to The Moss Portfolio, 74 Poplar Grove Lane, Mathews,
VA 23109. Please do not send anything that you would want returned to
you. I would like to include things from all over the country that we've
done together. It will be a fun book, and I think we'll be amazed to
see all the great things we've achieved together and all the wonderful
people we've met. Thanks!
Love,
Pat
