Dear Friends:
I’m very excited about this weekend’s gallery show and Barn Open House in Waynesboro, Virginia. I will be at my “Barn” home to meet collectors and sign prints from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, April 17-18, and from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19. Please be sure to join us for refreshments on our new Commemorative Walkway and Patio area at The Barn from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18. In case of rain, it will be moved to the porch and inside The Barn. It’s going to be a beautiful weekend in the Shenandoah Valley, with spring peaking all around us. Rain or shine, the Valley is perfect this time of year—remember April showers and the flowers.
My Waynesboro gallery, located at 329 West Main Street in downtown Waynesboro, and I will be releasing my new giclée of the University of Virginia. Spring on the Lawn will be available at the gallery; and, if you would like a special print number, please call the gallery at 540-949-6473 to reserve it. Special numbers will be reserved on a first come-first served basis.
Spring on the Lawn will be released during my April 17-19 gallery show and Barn Open House in Waynesboro, VA. For more information, please contact my gallery in Waynesboro at 540-949-6473.
I will be the guest speaker for the Friends of Claytor Lake’s (FOCL) second annual Spring Splash fundraising event on May 3 at the Rockwood Manor B&B in Dublin, Virginia, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. The Friends of Claytor Lake has approximately 300 members and a 26-member Board of Directors comprised of lake users, property owners, agencies, businesses, and Pulaski and American Electric Power representatives. The organization is dedicated to conserving and protecting the lake.
I have created a special fundraising print for FOCL that will be available for purchase during the event. Morning Sail will retail at $125, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit FOCL. For more information, please contact either the P. Buckley Moss Gallery in Blacksburg, VA, at 540-552-6446 or FOCL at 540-395-3625.
Tickets for the Spring Splash are available for $30 in advance or $35 at the door. Availability is limited, and priority will be given to those purchasing tickets by April 17. Tickets may be purchased by either calling FOCL at 540-395-3625 or e-mailing at info@focl.org. Reservations may also be made on the FOCL website at www.focl.org.
Laura Walters, one of the organizers for the Spring Splash event, and her husband Jeff Arnold are neighbors across the lake from me. Jeff has a Searey seaplane and invited me to go up with him last week to see my house and the lake from the air. It was beautiful to see how the land lays. The little plane goes down to the lake on wheels, and the wheels come up once it’s in the water. It takes off and lands in the lake. We flew over the Hiwassee Trestle that appears in my painting, landed on the water, and then motored under the bridge. It was such fun!
With my able pilot Jeff Arnold and his Searey in the background.
Cruising Claytor Lake in an airplane!
Love,
