Dear Friends:

One more week and I’ll be heading to Waynesboro for my Museum Open House and Barn Show.  I’m so looking forward to it!  It will be so beautiful in The Valley, and I’ll get to see my friends and collectors.  Everyone loves to come to The Barn in the spring, because it’s so lovely with the flowers blooming.  Isn’t this a beautiful spring!

Homage to the Past will be released as a giclée on paper during my Museum Open House and Barn Show, April 27-29.  For more information, please contact the P. Buckley Moss Museum at 1-800-343-8643 or 540-949-6473.

If you come to the Museum this weekend, you may get to see a preview of the P. Buckley Moss Invitational Art Show, which should be hung Saturday.  We invited art students from the schools in surrounding counties and cities to submit their work, and the artwork will be on display (officially) from April 26 to May 26.  The grand opening will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, and I will choose the grand prize winner; but, you can still see it from this Saturday onward.  You be the judge and pick your own favorite—maybe we’ll have a popular choice winner.

A painting I’ve been working on recently is a new general release print based on my New York Central Park etching.  It will be available very soon as a giclée on paper.

Oh, the memories!  Central Park was very close to my high school, Washington Irving, and my friends and I would take the subway there after school and go skating.  I can still feel the cold and remember how tired I was after a day at school, but I so loved to skate!

I also want to share with you a new print I’ve just released to help raise funds for Virginia Tech’s new Center for the Arts.

Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech retails at $125, and a portion of the proceeds benefits Virginia Tech’s new Center for the Arts.

I’ve also just put the finishing touches to two new paintings that will be released as giclées on paper during my Collectors’ Convention this July 20-21 at the Riverside Casino and Golf Resort in Riverside, Iowa.  These two paintings feature the cheerleaders of the University of Iowa and Iowa State University.

Go Hawks, above, features a University of Iowa cheerleader, and Go Cyclones, below, features an Iowa State University cheerleader.

We just received the news (Wednesday) that Society member Anna Zartman passed away at the age of 92.  She made me an exquisite crocheted table cloth when she was in her 80’s, and I’m thankful to have it to remember her by.  Anna was the mother of former Society Board of Directors member and dear friend Sally Gobrecht of Hanover, Pennsylvania.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Sally and her family.

The staff of the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education has been receiving rave reviews on this year’s mailing labels.  The image on this year’s labels is based on my Flower Garden print.  Here are a few of the comments that have been coming in:

“Absolutely my favorite print, love the labels.”

“As a quilter, this is one of my favorite patterns and I have made three quilts with this pattern.”

“Love this years design, please send me more labels!”

While the mailing labels are free, you may make a tax deductible contribution to the Foundation.  If interested, please contact P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd., at 1-800-430-1320.

Happy spring!

Love,
Pat
