Dear Friends,
I am back in Panama for another three weeks of intensive painting. This
week's picture shows one of my last supper paintings. It is oil on canvas
and as you can see it's quite large. It's the focal point in our living
room here in Bocas. The bench I'm standing next to was made by two local
friends. I designed it based on a one I saw in a musuem in San Jose, Costa
Rica.
It is raining torrents here and has been for several days. I am fortunate
to have a house that is dry and plenty to do in my studio so I never
mind the rain but there has been bad flooding on the mainland. We will
be having collections in church this Sunday for those who are suffering
damage to their homes and possessions.
To update those of you who have joined me in the 10 lb. weight loss
challenge, I have shed three pounds but I am not happy with the rate
of progress bearing in mind that there are only seven weeks left before
the deadline of June 30. Malcolm and I have a Nordic Track down here
and we are bringing it back into action. I am still suffering from bread
and pasta denial. Will I ever be able to return to my beloved pasta
I wonder? The testing time is going to be next month. Immediately after
our convention in Iowa, I will be flying to Italy to stay with my daughter
Becky and her family in Cortona, Italy. Fortunately Cortona involves
a great deal of walking either up or down its steep mountain top streets.
I return from Panama on May 30 and a week later I will be in Cedar Rapids
for our Collectors
Convention. I hope to see you there.
Love,
Pat
