Dear Friends:

These are my last few days in St. Petersburg, Florida, before heading back to Virginia.  I had a farewell-until-November lunch with dear friends earlier this week.

My friends and I had a farewell-until-November lunch before I left for Virginia this week.  Standing, L. to R.:  Me, Judy Haverty, and Joni Lefter.  Seated is Jackie Peterson.

This blue turtle painting will be released as a giclée on paper soon.  My inspiration was the beautiful bay near my house in St. Pete.

This Saturday, July 2, I’ll be signing at MAG-The Gallery in Mathews, Virginia, followed by lunch with members of the Moss on the Chesapeake Chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society at the Mathews Yacht Club.

The weekend of July 8-10 I’ll be in Waynesboro for our Mardi Gras-themed Summer Celebration at the P. Buckley Moss Museum.  It’s going to be such fun!  Friday will start off with a tour of the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, Virginia, followed by lunch.  I’ll be signing at The Barn in the afternoon and at the Museum in the evening during our wine and cheese reception.  Chapter Training will be held at the Museum on Saturday, and the sessions will be open to the general public.  I’ll be signing at the Museum on Saturday instead of at The Barn.  Saturday night we’ll have a Mardi Gras Dinner Dance and auction to benefit the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education.  There will be many wonderful things in the auction, including one or more quilts made around my hand-painted fabric centerpieces.  I love the auctions, which are so lively with us all egging one another on and competing against one another for favorite items.  We have lots of laughs.  There will also be Mardi Gras Goodie Bags that may be purchased for $20.  Each bag is filled with gift items, including gift certificates from P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd.  One lucky bag will contain a certificate entitling the owner to a free, framed original miniature watercolor.  On Sunday, I’ll be signing at The Barn, and a Dealers’ Meeting will be held at the Museum.  It’s going to be a weekend full of friends and fun—“Y’all come!”  Please contact P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd., for more information and to reserve tickets for special events at 1-800-430-1320.

Secret Hideaway will be released during our Summer Celebration in Waynesboro, VA, July 8-10.

The Foundation for Children’s Education is in its third week of the Summer Art Enrichment Program.  Last week’s session was for children six- and seven-years-old.  The theme for all three sessions is This Land is Your Land; This Land is My Land, based on the Woody Guthrie song.  The children are learning about our country through the song and through their art.

Session II’s nighttime desert scenes.

This student is working on a Native American God’s Eye.  The four points, or corners, represent earth, air, fire, and water.  The twigs for this project were gathered by the children from the Museum grounds.

These students are working on a seascape depicting a sailboat in the “Gulf Stream waters.”

Have a happy Fourth of July, and take time to remember our soldiers who preserve our freedoms.

Love,
Pat
