Dear Friends:
I'm delighted to be back in my beautiful Virginia! I'll head out to
Waynesboro a little early for this weekend's Museum
Open House and Barn Show. I'm eager to see how Museum Director Corrado
Gabellieri has hung The Barn with the new pieces I've been working on,
and I'm looking forward to seeing my friends and flowers.
Nothing says "summer" quite like the beach, so for my summer
Barn Show we're releasing three special beach scenes featuring landmarks
from Virginia Beach. All three will be released at my Museum
in Waynesboro this weekend, July 16-18.
Virginia Beach Treasures celebrates summer at Virginia Beach, VA.
The image includes the historic Cavalier Hotel, both Cape Henry Lighthouses,
and the statue of King Neptune, combining attractions both old and new.
Castle in the Sand features a sand castle that happens to be The
Cavalier Hotel. The famous pier at Virginia Beach appears in the background.
Our Day at the Beach inspires a sense of nostalgia for a more serene
and innocent time, when parents watched their children build sand castles
and chase birds along the beach. The Virginia Beach pier also appears
in the background.
I've been working on paintings for upcoming late summer and fall shows,
and I'll be showing you those in the weeks ahead as we get a little
closer to their release dates. I'm looking forward to an exciting and
fun show season.
I'm excited to be able to spend a few hours at the Daylily and Wine
Festival this Saturday morning. The festival is at the André
Viette Farm and Nursery in Fishersville and opens at 9 a.m. For more
information contact the Augusta Chamber of Commerce at (540) 324-1133.
Love,
Pat
