Dear Friends:
God bless the families of our servicemen who were lost over the weekend when their helicopter was shot down over Afghanistan. The loss of such a wonderful family of men is a tremendous one to bear. Our soldiers give up so much for us, even their lives. Our ability to laugh, play, and work in peace is something we should never take for granted—others have paid the price for the freedom we enjoy. We will remember them all in our own special ways.
I’ve been working nights and counting down the days until I go to Italy—just one more week. Working nights is good, because I’ll be on Italy-time when I get there.
I’ll return in time for my show with Berlin Creek Gallery in Berlin, OH, September 23-24. Gallery owner Nancy Tarzan and I will release two new special giclées on paper, Victorian Splendor and Brightman’s Sleigh Ride, which will be available only as a set. Victorian Splendor features the Victorian House Museum in Millersburg, which is the home of the Holmes County Historical Society’s museum of Victoriana and collection of Holmes County history. The house was built in 1902 by L. H. Brightman, an industrialist from Cleveland, for his large family and has been investigated by the Central Ohio Paranormal Research Group. In honor of the resident spirits, I included a ghostly figure in one of the windows of the house.
Victorian Splendor, left, and Brightman’s Sleigh Ride, right, will be released as a set at my show with Berlin Creek Gallery, September 23-24. For more information, please contact the gallery at 330-893-2686.
’Til next week…
Love,
Pat
2012 Alaskan Cruise
If you are looking for a special vacation next year, why not join me and other Moss collectors on a seven-day cruise along the Alaskan Coast?
The ship Zaandam, of the Holland America Line, will set sail from Seward (Anchorage) on July 29, 2012, visiting Glacier Bay, Haines, Juneau, and Ketchikan before passing through the Inside Passage to Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada on August 5. Interior staterooms are $1,238.53 per person, double occupancy, and ocean view staterooms are $1,588.53 per person, double occupancy. Deluxe and verandah staterooms are also available.
An Alaska land tour can also be added, starting at $1,337.04 per person. The land tour runs immediately prior to the cruise, July 26-29, 2012. The land tour departs downtown Anchorage, where you will board the McKinley Explorer train to Denali National Park, where you will take the Tundra Wilderness Tour. On July 29 you will return to Seward in time to board ship for the cruise.
An optional post-cruise excursion to Butchart Gardens in Victoria, Canada, is also available. The Gardens are on Victoria Island outside Vancouver, and this would be a day-trip involving taking a ferry boat over to the Island.
Society member Carol Thurman of Monroe, Michigan, has volunteered to serve as our Society Cruise Coordinator. She may be reached at 734-289-3796 or wb8pfc@yahoo.com.
