It’s move-in weekend for undergraduates at Virginia Tech, and Blacksburg is abuzz with excitement. My granddaughter Sofia is one of the freshmen, and my daughter Becky and all the family have been busy getting her ready.
For any collectors who are seeing off Hokies this weekend, I’ll be signing at my Blacksburg gallery at 223 Gilbert Street on Saturday, August 22, 12:00-5:00 p.m., and on Sunday, August 23, 12:00-3:00 p.m. We have plenty of Hokie prints available as well as our two special release prints for the weekend.
The Lyric, above, and Flowers of Summer, below, will be released during the show at my gallery in Blacksburg, VA, August 22-23. The Lyric features its namesake in downtown Blacksburg. It has operated as a not-for-profit movie theatre and community center since 1998. For more information on the show, please call the gallery at 540-552-6446.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been working on hand-painted quilt squares that will eventually be incorporated into quilts to benefit the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education. This is a major fundraising project for the Foundation, which supports education for children who learn differently through scholarships to students and grants to teachers for special programs that incorporate the arts. Any quilter who would like to volunteer to make either a quilted wall-hanging or a full quilt for the Foundation to raffle or auction, should contact Tricia Miles at P. Buckley Moss Galleries, Ltd., at 1-800-430-1320 or firstname.lastname@example.org to request a square.
