Dear Friends:
What a joy it was to be back in St. Petersburg, Florida, even if it
was only for a few days! The weather was beautiful, and I went walking
every morning. One of the people I go walking with is Mary Joan Mann.
Mary Joan is the daughter of cartoonist Wally Bishop, creator of the
Muggs and Skeeter comic strip.
While I was in town, I got to do one of my favorite things, go to a
yard sale! Even better, the yard sale was held at Wally Bishop's house.
Mary Joan's husband Sam treated me to a tour of the gorgeous old house,
and I was thrilled to see her father's drawing table still in his studio.
What a treat!
My weekend show at The Finn Gallery was wonderful, and it was so nice
seeing all of my Floridian friends. I'm looking forward to returning
this winter for a lengthier stay and to painting in my studio with its
incredible light and to having my body feel good with all the exercise.
Ice Dancers is one of Pat's newest
releases which include some of the most exquisite miniature paintings.
I recently joined the Mathews (Virginia) Women's Club
and attended my first meeting last week before leaving for Florida.
What a great group of women! I'm a member of the Waynesboro Women's
Club, too, but I'm not there often enough to attend the meetings. I'm
really looking forward to participating in the programs and activities
again.
Can you believe Thanksgiving is already here? I'll be spending it in
Waynesboro with my children and grandchildren. My youngest son Chris
and his family are even driving down from New York. What fun!
The day after Thanksgiving, I'll be flying to Iowa for a show with The
Village Shoppe in Kalona, Iowa. I hear that gallery owner Doris Greiner
and her staff and friends are preparing a fun-filled weekend, and I
can hardly wait. We'll be debuting a new print for the occasion, titled
Serenity, and I think everyone will like it.
Serenity will debut at The Village Shoppe where Pat will be showing
November 25-26. For more information, call the gallery
at (319) 656-3853.
I'll be having a very busy week after that, with three
gallery shows and a fundraising dinner for the P.
Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education. The fundraising
dinner will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Park South
Hotel in Richmond, Virginia, on Friday, December 2, from 6:00 p.m. to
9:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 each. If interested, contact Beverley Mann
at 804-271-1945. It'll be like a big dinner party with lots of friends;
I hope you can join us. All the proceeds will directly benefit the Foundation.
The welfare of our children is so important.
If you're trying to think of a neat Christmas gift for someone, a membership
in the P. Buckley Moss Society
may fill the bill.
Have a happy Thanksgiving! I hope to have pictures for you next week.
Love,
Pat
