Dear Friends:
I so very much enjoyed being with “my Greek family” in Columbus, Ohio, this past weekend. I always feel right at home whenever I’m in town for a show with the Borloglou-Campbell-Vatsures family at Gallery Art Center. Their framing is wonderful, and I really appreciate how they represent my work.
The wonderful Gallery Art Center family! Front row, L. to R.: me, Mary Borloglou, & Peter Vatsures. Middle row, L. to R.: Eileen Rumley and Suzi Campbell, owner. Back row, L. to R.: Steve Campbell, Brent Bailey, & Virginia Carvour.
We had a great show that was well-attended in spite of its being a game day for Ohio State University. The TV was on in the back room so people could keep up with the game, and there were frequent exclamations of “Yes!” and “No!” It was lots of fun, and we also had some delicious Greek food.
Earlier last week, I was the guest speaker for Virginia Tech’s Richmond Alumni Chapter meeting that was held at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond. It was great to be back in the old, historic City of Richmond, and I loved the Visual Arts Center. It’s a wonderful facility for pottery and painting. I walked through the studios and just wanted to be in there working! There was a great turn-out by the Richmond Alumni Chapter, and they were a joy to be with. Boy, are they Hokie fans!
I’m back at my home in Radford, Virginia, working on a painting of the Kingsport carousel for my December 12-13 show with Up Against the Wall Gallery, as well as a few other pieces. My daughter Becky and I are getting the downstairs studio ready for etchings and silk screens, and life is good.
I’ll be off to Princeton, West Virginia, this Friday for my show with Frameworks Plus. Friday afternoon we’ll have a reception at Bluefield State College to launch my new print Bluefield State’s Conley Hall on the Terraced Hills, and I’ll be signing prints and meeting collectors at the gallery in Princeton on Saturday. Becky is looking forward to seeing that part of the country and meeting the collectors and everyone at the gallery. This will be her first visit.
Bluefield State’s Conley Hall on the Terraced Hills will be released during my show with Frameworks Plus in Princeton, WV, on Saturday, November 22. For more information, please contact the gallery at 304-425-0200.
I’m very excited to be on the front cover of the November-December, 2014, issue of the P.E.O. Record. I joined Radford’s local chapter earlier this year, and my daughters Mary and Becky and granddaughter Sarah are also members. P.E.O. is a women’s organization that raises money for various projects that promote and/or support women’s education and continuing education. The organization sponsors various scholarships for women seeking higher education.
What an honor to be on the front cover of the November-December, 2014, issue of the P.E.O. Record!
Stay warm!
Love,
Pat
