Dear Friends:
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had a very happy day,
surrounded by half my family - my Virginia children and their families.
We all pitched in to cook the meal: daughter Mary prepared the desserts,
daughter Ginny and son John prepared the side dishes, and I prepared
the turkey.
Pat sits next to John with Maureen and her daughter Molly.
We had great fun being together, and having five grandchildren running
around reminded me of the days of raising my own six. John's friend
Maureen Messick brought her daughter Molly, too, and I was delighted
to have her with us. She's a lovely young lady.
During her show at The Finn Gallery, St.Petersburg, FL, Pat pauses
for a photograph with friends Dick and Bonnie Lou Binnig (on Pat's right)
and Bill and Barbara McGowan.
The day after Thanksgiving, I flew to Florida to be at
The Finn Gallery for a weekend show. It was another family affair! Tim
Finn's whole family was on hand to staff the show, and once again I
was delighted to see friends old and new, including two couples with
an "Italian connection." Dick and Bonnie Lou Binnig were with
me on the Italy trip, and Bill and Barbara McGowan own a house in Cortona,
which is where I first met them during one of my visits.
Mary Jo Hopkins (left) and Dot Hiter decorate the tree at the Barn
in preparation for Pat's open house this Friday, Saturday and Sunday
(December 3-5).
I'm back in Mathews for just one day before heading to
The Barn for this
weekend's open house. My son-in-law Corrado Gabellieri, who runs my
museum, has sent me pictures of my friends Dot Hiter and Mary Jo Hopkins
"decking the halls" at The Barn. Special thanks to all the
Barn Show volunteers who do a fantastic job setting up and staffing
The Barn!
Until next week...
Love,
Pat
