What a terrific weekend! It was cold but sunny for our Christmas gallery show and Barn Open House. The Barn looked beautiful, and our big Christmas tree was gorgeously decked out with all the ornaments made by the students of Waynesboro’s Wenonah Elementary School. The children were so excited to see their creations on our big tree when they came for the tree lighting ceremony Saturday morning.
The Barn was so lovely and festive. This picture was taken just before we opened, with a few of our volunteers present.

This delightful little boy is a kindergarten student at Wenonah Elementary, and he was so excited to show us his poinsettia ornament.

It was so nice seeing Jean Brower again. She was our neighbor when we first moved to Waynesboro and lived in a charming old farmhouse.
Members of the Moss on the James Chapter come on the Sunday morning of every December Barn Show and set up a marvelous potluck breakfast. It’s a tradition that we all look forward to.
This wonderful quilt was made by Jeannine McNeill and Linda Gorman for the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children’s Education and was the subject of a year-long raffle. Foundation Board of Directors member Doug Ball and I pulled the winning ticket Sunday afternoon. The lucky winner was Lyle Palmer of
Waynesboro.
With Chef Chris of the Green Leaf Grill, one of our favorite places for dinner.Our Waynesboro and Blacksburg galleries are announcing special hours for the month of December. Normal hours for both galleries are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday. Our gallery at 329 W. Main Street in Waynesboro, Virginia, will stay open until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, and Friday, December 18. The gallery will close at 2:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen on Tuesday, December 29. It will also close at 2:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reopen on Saturday, January 2. Our gallery at 223 Gilbert Street in Blacksburg, Virginia, will be open on all Monday’s in December in addition to its regular hours and also by appointment. The gallery will close at 2:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and reopen on Monday, December 28. It will also close at 2:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and reopen on Saturday, January 2.
This weekend my daughter Becky and I will be taking another road trip, this time to Columbus, Ohio, for a show with my friends at Gallery Art Center. We’ll be releasing a special new print titled Legends in the Fall.
